Korean Explorer runs courses in three main formats. Each has a different fee, schedule and class structure. These are published prices for specific packages, not a market average.
Classroom group course: $350 for eight two-hour sessions (16 contact hours) over eight weeks. Classes are held at 10 Anson Road #22-07E, International Plaza, Singapore 079903, above Tanjong Pagar MRT. The beginner timetable also lists Jurong classes; confirm the campus for your level and intake.
Live online group course: $480 for eight two-hour sessions (16 contact hours). Classes run on a fixed Singapore-time schedule over Zoom, not on demand. Online delivery does not mean any-time attendance. Ask about recorded access and whether it applies to your particular booking.
Private lessons: Online private beginner is $1,280 for eight two-hour sessions plus $50 registration. Online private elementary-to-business levels are $1,480 plus $50 registration. The registration charge applies to private bookings and is not assumed to apply to group courses.
Classroom and online group courses are different packages with different fees. Do not assume the same price applies to both.
Private lessons offer individual instruction on your schedule, but a private format does not by itself guarantee faster progress. The same grammar and vocabulary still requires practice outside class.

How to Plan Your Week Around Korean Lessons

- Lesson: two hours in a confirmed class slot.
- Travel: an example 30 minutes each way, totalling one hour; replace this with your own journey.
- Review: one 30-minute session and one one-hour session, totalling 90 minutes.
- Listening or speaking practice: two 15-minute sessions and one 30-minute session, totalling one hour.
- Example weekly total: five hours 30 minutes, comprising two taught hours, one travel hour and two hours 30 minutes of personal practice.
Eight two-hour sessions require eight teaching weeks at one session each week. A two-session weekly timetable would use four teaching weeks for the same hours. Breaks and the actual offered timetable determine calendar dates; confirm availability instead of assuming both patterns are offered for every level.
This is a planning tool, not a curriculum or outcome promise.
Contact hours are not fluency. Completing one 16-hour package means you attended 16 hours of instruction. What you achieve depends on your starting level, attendance, practice between sessions and what you are working towards. There is no single fluency deadline for every learner.
Pre-Enrolment Checklist

Trial Class and Placement: What to Expect
Paid trial class: Korean Explorer publishes a trial class at $45 for one two-hour session. This lets you experience the teaching style and class format before committing. Confirm the current trial schedule, level and conditions with the school.
Placement: If you have studied Korean before, the school’s placement route helps determine your starting level. This is the school’s own assessment based on your background. It is not the same as a TOPIK score. TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) is a separate examination run by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED). Its official overview is separate from the school’s course-placement forms. Ask the school what its placement covers and whether any additional checks or fees apply.
